Main Areas of Focus – The Curriculum

  • Practical Life Activities – This is the area through which the child will practice self-care, as well as care for the environment and others. The Practical Life Activities help children become independent with daily tasks of which they have already seen in their home environment and thereby assisting them to carry out their tasks in the classroom environment comfortably.
  • Sensorial – The Sensorial materials assist children in developing and refining their Senses. There are materials that help children not only recognize differences in size, shape, smell, sound, and more, but also to really explore and appreciate the beauty of the world around them.
  • Math – The child being a sensorial learner at this age (3-6 years), the Montessori Math activities help him/her develop basic mathematical skills, concentration, and confidence. Therefore, the mathematical mind of the children helps them to think independently and to make logical connections between Math and the real world.
  • Language – The unique approach in Montessori Method helps the child to learn writing and reading by introducing letter sounds. (phonics) Specially prepared materials in Language Development enhance the child’s natural ability to learn the language effectively and efficiently.
  • Cultural Activities – In a Montessori classroom, these activities which are based on History, Geography, Botany, Geometry, Zoology and Science etc. helps the young minds to explore the world with curiosity and interest.

Each area is designed to nurture a child’s intellectual, emotional and social development ensuring they grow into well-rounded, confident individuals
